Voice controlled vacuum cleaner, the lazy man´s dream come true
It seems that people at Harbin Industry University (they have a really nice building) have developed a brand new type of robotic vacuum cleaner with some very interesting features.
It uses infrared beams not only to scan the room but also to locate the dirt so that it leaves no mess around the furniture.
It´s 34 cm wide and 12 cm high, cleans automatically based on the pre-scanned map of the room and returns to the charging station when low battery. And… right now they are equipping it with voice recognition system so that it could be remotely controlled by it´s master´s voice!
And the bad news at the end. Even though it is expected to outperform its competitors by its low price ($200) the engineers will need another 5 years to bring it to commercial market. Who knows where the competition will be then…
