Want Ultra Quiet Canister Vacuum? Here Is The Electrolux EL6985B Harmony

PROs: Very quiet. O2 filtration represents one of the best HEPA (12) filters in the world. With Electrolux, you must understand that they invented the vacuum cleaner… you know what I mean;

CONs: For EU market, the 1100W engine is… well… below the standard?

The Electrolux Harmony is one of the world’s quietest vacuums. Soft wheels, a powerful, sound-insulated motor and a low-noise floor nozzle are all part of Harmony’s innovative, quiet design. Harmony prevents noisy-air escape and keeps dirt from drifting back into the air. In addition, Harmony comes with the Electrolux O2 filtration system that contains a lifetime washable HEPA H12 filter that captures over 99% of dust and airborne allergens. The convenient dust bag indicator tells you when the bag is full so you can replace it and keep dirt flowing into the vacuum and away from your family.

With Harmony, you receive powerful cleaning in a lightweight, innovative design. Harmony has two different, soft-touch, ergonomic carrying handles that allow for a more comfortable feel. In addition, its lightweight design makes maneuvering this canister, while carrying the vacuum or while the cleaner is in use, nearly effortless.

Harmony cleans hard floors and area rugs, as well as furniture and drapes without difficulty. A foot-operated, height-adjustment switch and variable motor speed control allow it to glide between different surfaces with little effort. You can easily reach those hard to clean areas with the tools that are conveniently stored on the handle and the telescoping wand that extends quickly to reach the high places. Specifically designed for superior hard surface and rug cleaning, the Harmony includes a state-of-the-art floor tool and turbo nozzle for spot-cleaning pet hair and for cleaning stairs.

Harmony eliminates the storage hassle that occurs with many other vacuums. Harmony’s compact design allows for storage in small spaces and its on-board wand can be easily stored on the back of the vacuum. This unique wand-parking device minimizes the overall size of the vacuum and eliminates difficulties with hose and wand storage that you have with standard canister vacuums.

Who (what) is to blame?

Sure, the general pollution of the environment is the first and major reason (allergies are considered the civilization deseases and the pollution comes hand in hand with the civilization development) but we can also blame our life-style.

HEPA filters and dust mites

The attack of the human skin eating microorganisms

The dust mites are microorganisms living on the dust particles and eating (mainly) the dead human skin (dead human skin creates approximately 70% of all the household dust).

They love warm and wet places so it is no surprise that you can often find them in mattresses, beds, linens, upholstery or carpets.

Each one gram of the mattress dust can contain 5-15 thousands burly mites.

Vaccum cleaners vs. dust mites

To get rid of the dust mites, you actually do not need the vaccum cleaner with the HEPA filter. Each vacuum cleaner bag separates and captures these giant microorganisms quite well as their standard dimensions range from 0,1 to 0,5 milimetres. (more…)
